I’ll admit—before I attended my first AGM, I wasn’t sure if it was “for me.” I thought it was more of a committee thing. But that couldn’t be further from the truth.
AGMs are for every member, whether you’re on stage, in the audience, or volunteering behind the curtain. If you care about the future of the society, this is the place to help shape it. Your presence, your voice, and your vote matter.
…I see the constitution as part of the invisible scaffolding holding everything up. Without it, we’d be relying on memory, guesswork, or tradition—and that just isn’t enough when you’re trying to run a reliable, inclusive, community-driven organisation.
